I think the Abyss Online team have genuine ideas, goals, aspirations, but have no idea what they’re really doing – setting unrealistic goals like “releasing in April 2024,” “listening to people when they tell us to hide our past instead of owning up to it,” and much more.
Will this game ultimately release, or will they fall victim to the indie MMO curse the genre has become known for? I can’t say. I do genuinely wish them all the best, and hope this small spotlight either helps them in terms of feedback, or redirects additional interest to them as a game.
Any and all criticism and praise is equally as valuable in the development of a game your community can enjoy in my opinion. And they definitely have a long way to go.

Fractured Online is essentially a Western-developed Lost Ark. It features a top-down isometric perspective, has some decent combat, an acceptable world in terms of size, it’s severely lacking graphically but overall I had fun playing the Beta. Whether or not they can successfully launch the game is another question all together, however.

Wizard101 is a unique hybrid MMORPG.

It utilizes a blend of all 3 traditional business models. You can pay for a subscription, buy individual parts of the game, or play the introduction indefinitely for free. It also makes use of a fairly unique card-based combat system.

Wizard101 is one of the most unique MMOs I’ve played. From its turn-based combat system, to its individual world-based zones. This is a game that I feel as though everyone needs to try at least once, but given its target demographic, I fear it might not be for everyone.

Into the Echo is an upcoming MMORPG that does not presently have a business model announced.

While ETLOK Studios, the dev team behind the game have confirmed there will be a functional combat system present within the final product of the game, they have not confirmed whether or not the system specifically will be tab-target, action or a hybrid combat system.

The world is very limited, and content has all but dried up as the team behind the MMO have redirected their attention and efforts towards the Astellia Royal free variant of the title.

Temtem is a buy-to-play MMORPG.

It utilizes the most unique type of combat in the entire MMO genre: turn-based. Temtem has you field 2 monsters at a given time and battle against other trainers and players that can also field at maximum 2 monsters.

Temtem is the only MMORPG of its kind. This is as close as we’ll ever get to a Nintendo MMO, and Crema Games did a fantastic job with it. This is a game that defied my expectations by providing the “Pokemon experience,” but retaining enough originality where it didn’t just feel like some cheap clone.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a buy-to-play MMORPG.

It utilizes a very unique type of action combat, providing players the opportunity to select a class and equip any weapon type, leaving you as a mage with a large axe, or a tanky guardian wielding 2 daggers.

This is an MMO that takes what The Elder Scrolls games did well as a singleplayer experience, and made it possible to do with a much larger community on a much larger scale.
