Ragnarok Begins Has Entered Closed Beta Testing

Earlier today, Gravity, the developers behind the upcoming “Ragnarok Begins” PC MMORPG went into Closed Beta testing. The test period will last through until September 7th, a week in total. This Beta test is specific to Korea, but they have plans on a global release.

According to the info supplied, this is a prequel to the Ragnarok Online MMO from the early 2000s. Set 100 years earlier, the story centers around the conflict between the Kingdom of Rune Midgard and the Principality of Arunafeltz, including the hidden story of the Pope.

Interestingly enough, Ragnarok Begins utilizes a side-scrolling gameplay type with a non-target action combat system. The developers have went on to state that they have every intention on reproducing the intricacies of the Ragnarok IP, including the unique character design found within the game.

While I didn’t get into the Closed Beta myself, I’ll be sure to reach out to content creators that did and see if I can’t secure some footage to compile into a video in the future.

Ragnarok Online 2 Ceasing Development In 2019

Ragnarok Online 2 was a terribly received sequel attempting to bank on the popularity of the Ragnarok Online MMO gaming series.

Ragnarok Online was widely known for offering players a large plethora of classes and jobs, some of the most in-depth gameplay at the time and overall a very intricate class system. Ragnarok Online 2 was the complete opposite of Ragnarok Online, being a carbon copy of every other Anime MMORPG released up to the point Ragnarok Online released back in 2012. The game offered had no originality and as such saw little in the way of population.
Nothing really stood out about it and therefore it died as rapidly as it released.

Now, in 2019, WarpPortal have announced that they will be completely removing the development team assigned to the game. What this means is that no additional content will be added in the future and all future plans for the game have been scrapped. No further support will be offered to players and all in-game events will cease.

However, all is not lost. The game itself is not shutting down. Instead, they have plans on keeping their single server up but they also plan on leaving the cash shop in operation. Meaning that at the end of the day, WarpPortal would rather not put any further work into the game while hoping players continue to pay them for no effort.

It is always a sad day when an MMO shuts down but at least fans of the game (all 20 of you) can continue to play the game until WarpPortal no longer sees any return on investment and shuts the game down.

Ragnarok Online RE:START – A New Beginning For This Classic Anime MMORPG!

Greetings and salutations my lovely little Bytelings my name is Wiggy and before I get into this video, I want to say, WOW there’s a lot of MMO related news that’s been coming out the last few days. Alright so yeah Today’s news video is about Ragnarok Online, more
specifically Ragnarok RE:START.

So what is Re:START? It’s a brand new sever for Ragnarok Online. This special server is using the original Ragnarok content form way back in 2003, when it initially launched. This means the only content available is form the Midgard Kingdom. So in essence they are in fact “Restarting” Ragnarok, at least for the new server.

Now while this server will be returned to the original state back in 2003, they plan on adding the newer content over time, in order of when they were released, so the RE:START server won’t remain stagnant, and you’ll get to progress through the content like you did originally.

It is, in essence a new game. As you’ll be required create a new account for this special server.

Now I will personally say that this seems like a unique step for Gravity to take, allowing people to relive the glory days of Ragnarok Online. Whether or not this’ll bring new life into Ragnarok
will remain to be seem, but considering how many people still talk about the “old” Ragnarok, I feel as though it’ll be pretty active.

Now this special RE:START server is available right now, on steam! so you can go ahead and try it out for yourself, but remember you’ll need a new account!

Ragnarok Online – WHY IS THIS MMORPG TORTURING US?!

So, we finally got around to playing Ragnarok Online again, and it was.. just as hard as it was the first time!

Don’t get me wrong, Ragnarok Online seems like a really fun MMORPG but, it’s just so damn hard moving around!
Stix and I kept on getting stuck, unable to move constantly, and it really makes it hard to enjoy playing Ragnarok, when moving around is a main part of any MMORPG.

Other then that, I enjoyed it… The sprites are good, the area’s (That we’ve seen so far) are nice. I just wish we didn’t have so much trouble navigating around.

Ragnarok Online 2 – Is This MMORPG A Worthy Successor To Ragnarok Online?

So we recently played Ragnarok Online and we had a lot of fun doing it. We figured, therefore, that we must also play Ragnarok Online 2! It definitely isn’t as entertaining as the original Ragnarok Online (as the original was an amazing MMORPG!) Unfortunately, Ragnarok Online 2, although a pretty game with a fairly good combat system, suffers from what a lot of free to play MMORPG suffer from: Being generic. Not that that makes the game bad though as we did find it pretty entertaining to play through! But with something as unique and large in scale as Ragnarok Online, you’d think some of that would’ve carried over to Ragnarok Online 2, its successor.

Ragnarok Online – This MMORPG Used To Be So Good!

Ragnarok Online was one of the most popular MMORPGs in the world once upon a time. It’s honestly a shame how poorly the game seems to hold up currently, but I guess that’s why the Ragnarok Online team are making a new mobile Ragnarok Online MMORPG, right? I mean the game itself isn’t bad. It’s just really slow, really clunky and difficult to play if you’re not used to or into this kind of MMORPG. Which isn’t a bad thing – it’s just not really for us unfortunately. We’ve tried Ragnarok Online multiple times now and each time we found it just too difficult to really get into. Maybe if we played a private server or something I guess. I dunno.
