Lord of The Rings Online Celebrates 11 Years of Service

Happy Birthday, LOTRO!

Lord of The Rings Online is celebrating it’s 11th year online this month, and with that milestone comes another tier in their recurring Anniversary Event. Lord of The Rings Online’s patch 22.1 ushers in the celebrations, which start April 19th.

The following is taken from the Official Forum Post:

Players will receive three additional Treasure Hunt cards focusing on the history of the game and core themes from Lord of the Rings when the event begins at 10:00 AM Eastern on Thursday, April 19th. Additionally, all player progress earned during LOTRO’s 10th Anniversary remains in place, so players can continue their celebration. All previous years’ quests are available immediately, but players will need to complete a prior quest before getting the next one.

On top of the anniversary event, any players who have been a part of LOTRO’s journey from the start will also be eligible to receive an 11-year giftbox and title. If you’re eligible for this gift, don’t feel like you need to rush to claim it – It’s available until March 31st 2019. Yes, 2019, that’s not an error!

It’s strange to think that so many of the MMORPG’s I played as a teenager are at double digit anniversaries now. I hope LOTRO celebrates many more years to come.

Lord of the Rings Online – To Jump or Not to Jump?

Poor Mathumus! Having to sit through the torture of playing with us without voice chat – I feel for him! It must have been a nightmare!

We managed to hit level 10 though which is an accomplishment for us! We made some excellent progress thanks to Mathumus-senpai! We look forward to future journeys with our brother in arms and fellow Elf!

Hopefully you guys enjoy watching us mess around trying to save the world from.. stuff?

Lord of the Rings Online – Accursed Dwarves!

We finally got around to trying out Lord of the Rings Online!

Both Wiggy and I were mighty surprised to find out exactly how fun the game is! Neither of us are experts in Lord of the Rings lore (having only watched the LotR and Hobbit movies) but found ourselves in.. familiar territory.

We ended up choosing Elves, ’cause why not? They’re the most aesthetically pleasing of all the races! Having chosen Elves though we came across the most RP names in all of MMORPGs!

We didn’t get too much opportunity to explore unfortunately, but we did cover quite a bit of ground. Surprisingly we barely had to fight anything in our 1-2 hours worth of game time. Just a lot of running around, exploring, talking to different NPCs. While we can understand that not everyone may like this – we definitely did! It was a very nice change of pace and helps really establish your character in the Lord of the Rings world!
