Wow, this sure did make the soyboys of youtube angry. Maybe if they spent more time shaving off those peachfuzz beards and less time complaining about asian gacha games they wouldn’t feel so victimized all the time.

Just an FYI- this isn’t just a scam. It meets legal criteria for fraud. Which is an important distinction, because it’s ripe for a law suit (likely a class action, given that the individual costs are low, but the amount of money they are stealing on a large scale is quite large). Anyone who is interested in launching a law suit against them would have a very easy time winning, and likely getting a hefty settlement since the scenario pretty clearly meets all legal criteria for fraud.

I made this just to shout OMORI. guys if you’re looking for the game being advertised here, it is called OMORI. and it is great. The ads are straight ripping off this game. Like not actual gameplay but it might as well be. I saw the ad and immediately went looking for someone saying that evertale is ripping off omori but found this instead. If you are interested in the game being advertised in these fake ads, please check out omori instead. Sadly not for mobile but it is on steam. Indie developer.

I knew something up with Evertale when an ad for it popped up on YouTube. I never downloaded the game and am a little surprised people did given that the icon for the game is completely different from the horror ad.
I really wish I could be playing the ad instead.

What i think we need is someone to take inspiration from the scam advertisements this game is producing and then create a fully functional psychological horror game based off the premise these people are trying to sucker you in with. Will people be skeptical? Yes, and rightfully so, after what Evertale has done, but I think if even one game creator makes a game even half as good as the advertisements are trying to pass off, at least something good will have come from this scandalous fiasco

I’d be honest the ad is completely different from what you expected but actually by playing it the plot is quite deep and quite intriguing, and in fact I’ve finished the whole storyline, I’d say its decent, just disappointing ad display and a pay-to-win like mechanics for those who aren’t patient on efficient saving. I apparently just got 2 SSR in 20 draws and its just the rng, besides cashing in for the game itself theres no more need to cash inside the game and staying f2p is relatively easy, just needs the patience. Overall, ad-wise I agree its a scam, but content-wise its quite immersing for me.

I bought and played this game for over an hour before I realized it wasn’t anything like what was advertised. I kept waiting for the advertised content to show up, because honestly, the game felt way too easy and the hero too much of a Mary Sue. It’s a shame, because the beginning would have actually been a pretty good setup for the psychological horror game that was advertised in its place.

Honestly compared to most gacha style games, I’ve quite enjoyed this one. Alot more interaction and stuff to do. Also alot of story and great art. I paid for it and would definitely pay for it again.

The app store has images and an icon to match the horror scam as well, I had purchased the game under the false advertising
